Daniel 1829 Atchison KS Believed to be son of Daniel/Sophie Wickersham. Tradition he b VA, however his Army Discharge 12-8-1864 shows him 30 years old and b Montgomery, Daviess Co IN; another rcd he b 2-17-1832; his gravestone b 1829. His gravestone he d 3-23-1911; a rcd(?) shows d 3-11-1911. He d Lancaster, Atchison Co KS bur at Lancaster. Tradition he left Roanoke, Roanoke Co VA in early youth, settled in IO, enl Company I, 39th Regt IO Inf Commanded by LT R.C. Hunter 8-12-1862 Medical Discharge from svc of USA 12-8-1864 Keokuk, IO. He 5' 7 3/4" tall, blue eyes, light complex, brown hair. He a farmer when enl. Tradition his father and bros on CSA side; result family completely seperated. After disch he homestead near Lancaster, KS where lived rest of life. He m (1) Martha Callender (1840-1892) 1-15-1859; she d 2-5-1892 bur Maple Grove Cemetery Effingham, Atchison Co KS. Mar (2) HelenaLouise (Kapelle) Benton, a Widow. She dau HenryE Kapelle and Louise Salter, b 11-14-1866 in Denmark d 3-3-1927 at Atchison. She m (1) William Benton b 4-6-1854 KY d 12-31-03 Daniel/Helena had no children. RufusB 1817 VA Bourbon KS RufusBenjamin, son of Benjamin b 1795, was b 5-1-1817. He was a farmer; left VA with his brothers John and James, moving to OH where he and James had farms in Highland and Brown Counties. Bro John res with him. His home burned so he and his family moved to Paris, Edgar Co IL. His nephew, CalvinErastus res with him there and in future res. Jan 1883 Rufus and family moved to NE; bought a farm in Feb 1883. Upon his d his family moved to Willow Springs, Howell Co MO arr 11-18-1893, res there two yrs, moved to Ft Scott, Bourbon Co KS. Rufus m Maria Glenn (1815-1908), prob OH. She d 1908 at Ft Scott KS. All children prob b OH: *CharlesSanford b ca 1847 d 2-15-1934 Springfield, Greene Co MO. Never mar. *AbnerWilliam b ca 1849. *AnnaRachel b ca 1851. *CatherineBelle b 1853.
